LEDA is pleased to announce its success in winning the BCO (British Council of Offices) Award in for the best Fit-Out (South-East Region) for a new 8,000 Sq m Headquarters Office Building in Burgess Hill, Sussex.
(Client Roche Diagnostics)
"Last year's top prize-winner Roche has again shown its commitment to quality. The awesome interior to an otherwise bland re-clad of an industrial park building solved the difficult task of a quick relocation after the client was let down on another scheme. Clearly a good relationship evolved between the developer and fit-out team to iron out inevitable difficulties.
The 80,000 sq. ft. of useable space has been built to BCO standards, providing a high quality environment which encourages communication through minimal screening. The space is designed around an atrium at the heart of the building, allowing natural light to penetrate the internal floor areas. Zoning makes the space varied and interesting as well as flexible. Work areas, customer liaison and reception spaces generate excitement with high quality colourful wall finishes, an imaginative range of loose furniture and bespoke break-out and informal meeting areas.
Options are provided for collaboration in meeting rooms, break-out spaces, a restaurant, coffee bar or gym. Visitors are also well served. No staff have left because of the relocation, which Roche says is because employees have a sense of pride in the space and because of the “give-back” factors.
Impact on the environment was an important consideration both during construction and on-going operations. A BREEAM assessment has been implemented but was not complete at the time of inspection. The project was carefully planned and executed and the project team ensured the design allowed for optimum redevelopment of the remaining areas of the site"
